TOURNAMENT RULES

Behavior expectations for the event are conducted by the ITC Code of Conduct

Basic Rules & Tournament Submissions:

  • Each player’s army will be a Battlehost force, a 2000 point list, using the rules and restrictions provided in the Pitched Battle section from the most current General’s Handbook. Lists must be submitted BEFORE 5-12-25. Failure to meet the date will result in a significant reduction of your sportsmanship score!

  • Any kind of ability you can choose before the game must be chosen before the event and recorded on your army roster clearly.  These choices are made for the entire tournament, and cannot be changed during the event.

  • Any models in the Legends category will be allowed at this event.

  • Models must be on round bases, please use the base size suggestions provided by GW in the CORE RULES & BASE SIZES.  Base sizes can give you an undue advantage in gameplay, so please use the suggested bases.

  • Your army should be fully painted and based to a 3-color-plus standard. Models not reaching this standard will cost you dearly in paint score and may disqualify you from any awards (even Battle score).

  • All models must be WYSIWYG, Hammers are hammers, Swords are swords etc. Any kind of proxy models will not be ok, but reasonable ‘counts as’ models or conversions may be. (Please email the TO pictures of the model and what it is supposed to be.)

  • Other useful items would include dice, a tape measure, pen or pencil, and any counters you need for remembering stuff. Also glue and tools for repairs would be nice.

  • An army painting Rubric will be used to grade your army.

Timings and Scores:

Timings: Each round will last three hours.  You will need to keep track of the time in each round.  Judges will be going around calling the time but they are often missed in a noisy room.  As we need to get your results after each round, we will need you to finish each game quite quickly and send in your results after the timer runs out.  If time is running short you should split the time equally to make sure you finish a whole battle round.  Barring that, if you can’t finish a battle round before time runs out you should not start the next round.  The size of the game has been set up so that both players should be able to set up and play your game comfortably in the time allotted.  We’d recommend having some practice games against your friends to get used to it!  If you can’t get your game finished to a satisfactory conclusion, please quickly talk it over with your opponent and use the time you have effectively.

Rules for Teams:

  • A Team must be comprised of 4 Players. If you have a gaming club with 8, or 12 players, they must be registered as separate teams (IE, Wobbly Gizits 1, Wobbly Gizits II, etc)

  • We are changing things up a little this year for team building rules! Players on the same team may not have warscrolls in their lists used in teammates army lists. This means the following: Two teammates may not have the same warscroll (ie, you can play the same Battletome, but if you are both playing Ossiarch Bone Reapers, only one list may include Mortek Guard- even if they have different weapon choices.

  • A list may have duplicates of warscrolls so long as they are in the same list (ie, you can have two units or more of Big Stabbas in your list, but your teammate cannot have any).

  • Manifestations and faction terrain are warscrolls! This means only one Cogs, Purple Sun, etc per team!

  • Questions? Please ask by emailing us!

Terrain:

  • Terrain at CCC is Fixed! The placement of terrain will be set at the start of the tournament. If you have abilities (Lookin' at you, Brodd) that moves or removes terrain, please place it back at the end of the game. If you need to make a small shift to fit your crazy faction terrain (OBR) please make the minimal terrain moves possible.

  • Because of this, the "Attacker" - "Defender" rules for this tournament are a bit different as seen below.

How Team Gameplay Works:

  • Once pairings are announced for a round (Team vs Team), Captains will participate in "The Challenge" to see who will select a Defender first. "The Challenge" (either Rock Paper Scissors, a roll off, etc) will be announced and decided by the Big Boss at the start of each round. The Team that Wins the Challenge will "Defend" First (they do not choose to attack or defend, they must Defend First)

  • There will be four tables, each with a fixed Battleplan and Terrain. The Team that is "Defending" will assign a Player and their army to one table (and its associated Battleplan). This player will be referred to as a "Defender".

  • Once a Defender has been assigned to a table, the opposing team will select an "Attacker" to meet them at the table. These two players will now be matched at that table and with that assigned Battleplan and have their roles set as "Attacker" and Defender".

  • Teams will alternate selecting Defenders and Attackers in the following order: Team A (winners of the Challenge) Selects Defender 1, then Team B selects Attacker 1. Team B will then select Defender 2 and Team A will select Attacker 2. Team A will then select Defender 3 and Team B will select Attacker 3. Of the remaining two players left to draft for the final table, the one from Team B will be the Defender and Team A will be the Attacker.

  • Tables do not need to be selected by defenders in any set order- you can pick any of the four tables in the set so long as it doesn't already have a Defender assigned.

  • REMEMBER! This is part of the game round, the timer is running!

  • Once Attackers and Defenders are all selected in a Team Pairing, games may begin.

  • Due to fixed battleplans and terrain, the following rules will be used instead of the standard rules for start of game (before deployment): The Attacker will select the table side they wish to attack from (representing picking the direction of the battle) and the Defender will deploy first (as they were there first).

  • Roll for Faction terrain placement as normal.
