Generals! Want your team to win the "'Ardest Boyz" trophies (Pictured Above) this year at CCC? Below are a few things to brush up on to make sure your gameplay is at its bestest!
Krondspine Incarnates are in play! Review the rules for Incarnates and know how to play against (and with) these models!
Familiarize yourself with other players unique Battle Tactics- its hard to defend against something you don't know is coming!
Read through the terrain rules! Terrain will be a big part of CCC- just as it is in all Age of Sigmar games. Some tables may have more open Line of Sight, others will be more blocked. Some tables will have tons of room for your models to move around while others may have choke points or defensible spots that your enemy may tuck into. As such, be sure you are familiar with the following rules:
Moving onto terrain: Core Rules 9.3 and 9.4 cover how units have to spend movement to go up or over terrain- and this expenditure is different for flyers. Be sure you know how this works!
Cover: Core Rules 17.1.1 talk about being in cover. Some terrain at CCC will have mdf board bases, and some do not- if the whole unit is entirety on the mdf board, it counts as being wholly on terrain. if the terrain piece doesn't have mdf board, then the entire unit would have to be wholly on whatever structure you see. In addition, all woods are wyldwoods- some pieces have trees that come off while others are glued, so to be consistent the ruling is that you may not move the trees to get units into the wood- If it don't fit it don't sit.
Moving over terrain: This is a big one, that often catches new players. Core Rules 9.3 states that a model's base is assumed to remain parallel to the surface of the battlefield no matter what. This means a couple of things: Number 1, that your model always occupies its base as footprint on the battlefield; it cannot tilt to fit between things or to squeeze into smaller spaces! Number 2 (And this is big one) your model can't "phase" though things- if part of its base will be higher up because it is on terrain, the whole base is assumed to be flat at the highest height it has to be. This may interfere with you coming within 1/2" of an enemy when charging, so make sure to have a landing pad ready for your big beefy cabbages!
Scenarios: All the scenarios in the GHB 2021 will be used in this tournament, so its best to brush up on the lot of them. Some may have moving objectives- if those objectives land on terrain (or started on terrain because the TO loves thematic games) then play where it lands!
Best of luck Generals, and stay tuned for even more updates to come!
